cruise control help
I put a 98 12v in a 2000 3500 4x4. I have managed to get everything to work except the cruise.
ECM doesn't have cam signal and of course no vp44 to talk to.
The cruise will come on for half a second and then go off and won't come back on unless key is switched off.
It seems that the ECM or PCM isn't seeing something and shuting the cruise off.
Any ideas?
Thanks

The 2000 factory WD shows the cam sensor for the gas engine but for the diesel it shows the crank sensor being used to monitor engine speed. Is it an auto or std? As it does set then disengages almost right away could it possible be something as simple as the second set of contacts for the cruise in the brake light sw?
Thanks for the reply Busboy. Sorry it took so long for me to reply back.
It is a standard. The cruise light is what comes on. It will go off before you can actually set the cruise. I haven't had time to look any deeper lately.
It did work before the engine swap. There are a few other sensors that aren't hooked up but I can't see them having any thing to do with the cruise.
I did get the tach working by moving the crank sensor and drilling the HB. No cam sensor, manifold pressure/temp, or tps. I did try plugging tps and cam sensor in just to see if any difference and there wasn't any.
Thanks again for the help.

Johnh,
The 98 has a speed sensor in the rear axel same as 2000. If only I had a pcm out of a 98 12valve. The 98 truck I have now has a 95 engine in it or I would steal the pcm out of it.
Thanks
