Crankcase over pressure

Hi guys I need some help please!! I have an 01 and my crankcase pressure is through the roof with the correct amount of oil in it. It has wiped out the tappet seal. I’ve tried pulling my vacuum pump and resealing it to correct the over pressure issue before I go and replace the tappet. I’ve done the trick of putting my oil filler cap up side down over the filler hole and it did not blow it off. I have no cross contamination between coolant and oil so I’m fairly confident in my head gasket. I’ve also pulled the breather tube to make sure it’s clean and clear. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what is creating the over pressure in the crank? Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like piston ring or re-bore time to me, since you've corrected the vacuum pump issue.

Still, follow the crankcase vent back and take a look if there is some blockage. What are the symptoms- a tappet seal failing after 18 years is no smoking gun for crankcase pressure IMO

A failed tappet cover could cause over pressure?

The only symptoms are leaking a good amount of oil and over pressure. Everything works, truck runs totally fine, no boost issues, doesn’t over heat or go through coolant.

The failed cover can not cause over pressure-it can be affected by over pressure, especially if the seal is 18 years old and brittle.

How did you determine over pressure?

Just sounds like an oil leak if you have minimal blow by.....gaskets do wear out.
