crank shaft position sensor
crank shaft position sensor
Just wanted to share what I learned from replacing the crank shaft position sensor in my truck. The truck had been displaying the symptoms of a bad cps for about the last 2 months with the check engine light, lope, failed start, etc. So I changed it out. That was it,problem fixed. But based on the way the truck shifts now (auto), I suspect it may have been bad since I bought the truck 20,000 mi. ago.The shifts were hard under light acceleration, but if you had some power put to it it would shift impressivley smooth. Now shifts under light acceleration are very smooth.Didnt expect that at first, but it kinda makes sense. What I took away from this is that failures of sensors may start to manifest themselves in ways that may be subtle in the day to day performance of youre vehicle.
