cracked block

Question cracked block

i heard today that ctd blocks from 99 to 01 with the casting number 53 are certain to crack has anyone else heard this?

Yes , also if your mileage is lower then 150,000 miles , you can get policy from Cummins that will cover the block and all hard parts in the engines , it will not pay for the labor or consumables , filters , oil , ect.

They are not "certain" to crack. Some do, some don't. I believe your chances of having one crack are increased if you tow heavy alot or increase the HP/TQ above stock.

Rob, not exactly true....stockers crack as well. Its really dumb luck.
