couple of codes
couple of codes
I have a couple of codes that came up and I can see from reading other messages on here that P0121 is the APPS, the other code is P0123, and am told it is an alternator code (weak alt). Will the one have much to do with the other? By replacing the alternator, is there any chance it will clear up the APPS code? I have had the dreaded "dead pedal" syndrom a few times.
Thanks as any info will be appreciated.

P0121 - Accel POS Sensor Volts Do Not Agree W/Idle Valid Signal
P0123 - Accelerator Postion Sensor (APPS) Signal Voltage Too High
well by the looks of the codes you need a new APPS or check your wiring.

Thanks fj. Is it possible, that by resetting the APPS, as per the instructions on this site, that code P0121 will go away or do I seriously need to spend the $$ (especially this time of year) on a new APPS and hope that will clear the other code?
well i look at it this way ... trying to reset it and adjust wont cost you a thing but time. try it and you might by looking at it find a bad plug or ground. you guys that live up in snow country might get a lot of bad grounds and rust and corrotion on stuff. good luck let us know what you find
thanks again -that was kinda the way I was lookin at it too! Is this safe to drive in the mean time?? I am away at work and my wife has been using it on a limited basis.
