P1693 - Companion code (DTC set)
P0230 - Lift Pump circuit out of range
P0336 - Problem with voltage signal from Crankshaft Position Sensor
P0219 - Crankshaft Position Sensor overspeed signal - engine exceeded RPM limits
P0232 - Fuel shutoff signal voltage too high
P1689 - No communication between VP44 and ECM
P0215 - Fuel injection pump control circuit - failure in fuel pump relay control circuit

Thats awesome, so which ones should i worry about first? Is one of those ones mean the vp44 pump going bad? Thanks!

Not convinced this is an injector pump problem necessarily. What symptoms does the truck have?

You've got a lot of codes dealing with bad voltages on a few circuits. Wondering if you might not have a ground issue, wiring issue or ECM issue causing this.

P0215 and P1689 are both bad codes to have...but I'd hate to throw a VP44 at it only to find the problem lies elsewhere.

HI, the only expierence i have had is, this week... it fired up and stopped after 1 second. Then i tried about 6-7 different times for it to fire and nothing. Then i tried again and it instantly fired again. Then on the way home, it was like someone turned the key off for 1 second then back on. Thats about my worst problem so far in two years...

Sound like the infamous "Dead Peddle" you will most likely need a new VP44 Good luck. Its not hard just expensive.

On your way home, the instant shut off and back on could be caused by the bad CPS. If the sensor all the sudden quits, and stops reading RPM. The ECM will think the truck has shut off, then the sensor begins to read again and the engine comes alive. This might also have something to do with your problems starting as well, maybe.

I would start with the cheapest repair first (CPS), but I would also get a fuel pressure gauge to see if your Lift pump is working. If it turns out your VP44 is dead, and you install a new one, you will want to be sure you have good fuel pressure up to the pump. If your Lift pump is dead also (just hearing it whirring doesn't mean it is doing anything) it will kill a new VP quickly.

Just thoughts though.

Do not pass go, Do not collect $200.00. You do not have to go to jail however. You need a VP44 and a lift pump to finish the job. You can play all you want, but it will take a pump to fix. Suggest PD of Pensacola, FL from Florida on ebay..

Updated!

So, a little update for all you guys helping me......
I ran the truck for a week after we reste the codes. Got in one time and started it up and instatnt shut off. Bang, light came on. Tried again and it fired right up like nothing was wrong but the light stayed on. So i took it right to my buddys shop and pulled codes. This time 4 were only there.
P1693
P0230
P1689
P0336

Spent 4 hours in the shop going through all the wiring and grounds and all voltages look good. Fuel filter looked good etc....Even pulled the ECM and everything checks good...Light is out again and we will see what happens......Feel free to add any thoughts and ideas....

Did you change the crank sensor?

With any luck it could just be the CPS; if not you're in for a huge expense I'm afraid. There is a history of the CPS doing this without there being any problems with the injection pump.
