ia geting these 2 codes what do they mean....p-0216 and p-1693

 

They mean "Start Saving"

Sorry, they actually mean:

PO216 - Fuel injection pump timing failure - High fuel supply restriction, low fuel pressure or wrong or incorrectly installed pump keyway.

P1693 - DTC detected in companion modual - A fault has been generated in the companion control module.

Basically it means your probaby going to need a new VP44 or at least an IP. You getting any dead pedal?

 

p0216 injection pump timing failure and 1693 companion code....sounds like another vp44 on its way to rebuilder.plenty of info on how to replace and diesel dan has a great how to series on you tube for the vp pump...while you are at it replace the lift pump..I would go with a fass and vp44 combo many online sell as kit and will save you a few bucks..

yes i have been geting the dead pedal , thought it was the quad box , i reset the apps today and it seems fine for now lol

 

Honestly this is probably a temporary fix. I highly recommend getting a fuel pressure gage and seeing where your at, and how low it gets at WOT. There is a prayer you can save the VP but I wouldn't bet in it.

Above advice is right on, save your pennies and get a new VP and a FASS and forget about it.

 

i put a new lift pump on about 6 months ago when i got the truck the original was dead but still running it must have put the VP to early grave lol
