I am also getting a 1693 code that I found yesterday.
Does anybody know what this code and a 1597 code are.

I have a OBD-2 software that allows me to reset the codes with my laptop, but the 1693 code will not clear.

234 - Turbo boost limit exceeded
1597 - Speed control switch always low
1693 - DTC detected in JTEC (engine computer)

You will need a different type of scanner to read the code in the JTEC or have a dealer scan it.

You can try disconnecting the batteries for a while and see if the codes clear, but that does not always work.

The 234 is an over boost code and the 1693 is the companion code for the PCM code that is set. I don't know about the 1597, but it may have something to do with the speed control. Try a search here on DTR for "over boost" and see if you can come up with anything.

You might try disconnecting your batteries for half an hour or so to see if they clear. I've also heard that if you try to start the truck with the batteries disconnected, it will discharge any capacitors that might be holding a charge. If they come back, you know you have a problem and can start checking them out.
