Code P1689 help....
Thanks for the reply.
I have had this thing on and off and plugged and unplugged about six times. I know folks with the Comp that have never had a problem. After three in three years, maybe it's just that the EZ amd me are not ment to be.

I guess I'll find out this week. I'm going to load the truck and a trailer up with a few thousand pounds and make about a six hundred mile trip. Scary , huh?
yea, i have been having the same problems as you. 1693 code, only happens every now and then, dead pedal, loss of power. But i have a spare injection pump and lift pump. So it wont be as costly, but it will still take my time. I will probably do the walbro glacier diesel lift pump kit.
You know...i did have this code once and found it to be corrosion on the terminals of the VP-44 connection. Did all sorts of weird things and popped that code. Try getting some electrical cleaner and clean the crap out of the plugs. Then cotton swap each hole and pin with some solvent. Then dielectric grease the female side of the plug. Worth a try. This fixed our issue…..
Mine is still doing it... accelerate and it revs up to 1600ish and goes back to idle, revs up to 1600ish and back to idle constantly does this, its bad. I can only get up to 29 MPH. I have done tpps reset (tpps is also only 6 months old) disconnect batteries over night with key on to drain everything, check and rechecked and cleaned multiple times wiring harness from vp44 to ecm, check for wiring shorts or opens and found nothing wrong. The VP44 is only a few weeks old that Southeast Power supply said that they will check it out for me on the bench but I will have to take it back off and they have to send it out to Orlando. They said that the upgrades are much better and they have never had one come back with any problems like this. I think thats my last resort though.
Anymore ideas... anyone?

No I don't think so, just get an OBD 2 which will read 1996 and newer. Checker has some starting around $100 which is what I have for work (I use it more for personal than work)
. I carry it in my truck always since my check engine light is burnt out.
