Clock Spring

Had my truck in for service and asked the service rep to check out my air bag system as it has been setting off the air bag warning light. When I told them it seems to go off when I turn the wheel they said it could be the clock spring in the steering assembly. They wanted $100 to hookup to the scan tool so Ilet it go for now. How hard is it to install this part and does it sound right. Twogun

There was a recall for the clock spring in 2001 or 2002. I would check as yours may be covered.

I changed out the clock spring in my wife's 01 durango. I printed off a page in instructions from the internet, ordered the part, took an hour or so. Seems that part was $65 +/-

I'd have to say they seem to be the most common airbag fault.
