cleaning sensors

I have noticed a drop in fuel mileage lately and think it may be due to a dirty IAT sensor. I did a search and could not find anything on cleaning it. I know you can use Brakleen or carb cleaner. I would like to get info on location and any other specifics anyone may have. Any and all input is GREATLY appreciated.

Many thanks in advance!!!

Gary

I cleaned mine a few months back. It is not too bad of a chore, but getting the sensor out was a challenge. It was pretty hard to reach until I managed to twist my arm in just the right direction. I think it was somewhere around a 1-1/4" socket that I used. Could be wrong though, I may have confused the size with the MAP (boost pressure) sensor.
Look on the back side (towards firewall) of the intake manifold and you will see the sensor, it is the smaller one, and I mean waayyy in the back.
Mine was covered in carbon (thanks to the exhaust brake) and I actually saw a difference in economy once I cleaned it up. My boost sensor will be next!
