Re:Check Engine Light

Autozone has code readers, they should pull them for free for ya.
I think with the 99, you are stuck using a code reader, no simple ignition sequence to read them.

Re:Check Engine Light

According to my source, its

P0237 MAP Sensor Voltage Too Low

Might just try disconnecting, then reconnecting (will clean the connectors), maybe a little dialectric grease.

If that doesn't work, replacement might be needed.

Could be the Comp (Edge) messing up too though, not sending the right info, I think I've heard of that code in relation to Comp or EZ problems.
Might just disconnect the Comp if it gives you big problems, you'll have less power of course.

I don't think it will leave you stranded or anything.

Hope I'm right

I'd give Edge a call, they might send you a new box to hook up and see if it fixes it, then you just send them the bad box.

Re:Check Engine Light

I occasionally get the 0237 code with my PM3. Talked to TST about it and they said it is a grounding issue causing the 237 code.

Re:Check Engine Light

Jack if you just want to know what the code numbers are turn the ignition on and then off 3 or 4 time in a row and that will show the code numbers. Maybe you already knew this but I thought I would mention it anyway.

Re:Check Engine Light

I dont believe that method will work on a 99. At least it doesent on mine. Thats why i bought a code reader.

Jack,
Be sure to give Edge a call. They will take care of that Comp for you.

Re:Check Engine Light

MAP and Boost sensor are the same animal.

MAP=Manifold Air Pressure sensor=Boost sensor.

Justin, Thanks for the daffynition. I was wondering wat the boost sensor was. ???

I have two hobbies - computer and my truck - and I am computer illiterate and mechanically illiterate. :-[ :-[
