Check Engine Light
Anybody know how I can obtain codes on a 99? I have a check engine light issue and it's done it twice in about 5 days. Would like to know what is going on before I go to the dealer. I know there are some threads on this, but I can't find them. Any help would be appreciated.

Autozone has code readers, they should pull them for free for ya.
I think with the 99, you are stuck using a code reader, no simple ignition sequence to read them.

Re:Check Engine Light
Thanks for the tip. Went to Advance, P0237. I don't know if that's MAP sensor or turbo boost sensor voltage too low. The reader said boost sensor, but the book of codes that I have says MAP sensor.
Anyone have a clue? Am I going to be stranded if I don't get this fixed like right away?

Re:Check Engine Light
According to my source, its
P0237 MAP Sensor Voltage Too Low
Might just try disconnecting, then reconnecting (will clean the connectors), maybe a little dialectric grease.
If that doesn't work, replacement might be needed.
Could be the Comp (Edge) messing up too though, not sending the right info, I think I've heard of that code in relation to Comp or EZ problems.
Might just disconnect the Comp if it gives you big problems, you'll have less power of course.
I don't think it will leave you stranded or anything.
Hope I'm right

Re:Check Engine Light
Disconnected comp. Code went away and truck actually runs much better. Oh well. I can deal without the power for a while. Maybe I'll get a new comp later on down the road, or just replace it with an EZ and call it good. Thanks for the help

Jack if you just want to know what the code numbers are turn the ignition on and then off 3 or 4 time in a row and that will show the code numbers. Maybe you already knew this but I thought I would mention it anyway.

I dont believe that method will work on a 99. At least it doesent on mine. Thats why i bought a code reader.
