Changing Tranny filter and pan fluid
I just did mine, drop the pan on one side and you can cut down the mess, the torx is holding the filter on, and you can only get that presently from the dealer, but the oil is avaible at napa, you read the back of the bottle its rated for or compatable with type of stuff. It took 6 quarts, I over filled it and after a test drive I had to drain almost 1 hole quart out ( I had put 7 in).
Well, at $20/gal for the dealer stuff, I didn't feel to bad. Plus I'm still under warranty so it would look better if I had an invoice from the dealer for their fluid.
Marine, I just went to o'reillys and asked for a filter and gasket for my truck and it came in one box. The filter I put on looks exactly like the one I took off which is the enclosed I'm guessing (it only has two openings on it).
PMK, I asked the dealer about the filter and they said you could get it from any autoparts store and the one I got fit perfectly. It is held on by a torx bolt though.

every brand of filter including the oem is made by spx filtran. shop by price. it should only cost around $12.00 for the filter kit. spx filtran web site states that the tranny filter will last the life of the tranny. gaurenteed
