what year was the first cat put on our diesels

 

The cat was used from late '94 until the 24 valve in '98.5 then came back again with the 3rd gen trucks in '03

 

it was a good trade for a bum pump

That doesn't sound right at all. I've never heard of a cat being required unless one came with the vehicle when new. I'd ask more questions first, perhaps to a higher up.

 

well the 82 had a 318 in it. it had a cat. the 97 diesel came with a cat. it will be interesting to say the least. i have been told a lot of stuff from the epa which looks good but the people that run the testing center have a different opinion
