can't go over 90 mph

i have 01 24v auto quad cab 4x4 i instald a banks power pack on my truck its nice but now i cant get it to go over 90 mph i lose power at 90. cant find eny thing rong with the banks stuff . thay sed there is nuthing in there kit that would do that. we have tride 3 of there ottominds still the same. can eny one help me please ??? ???

Yeah. Sell the banks kit and put an Edge Comp on it. No problems getting to 90. Or 115 for that matter. ;D I honestly don't like banks much. To much money for the power.

Have to agree Banks is over priced and dont deliever the power they advertise...there are better products on the market at reasonable cost

Could you get over 90 mph before ?<br>If not it may not be your power it may be your gears.<br>I'm not trying to sound smart or anything but do you know if you have 3:54's or 4:10's .<br>Hp will not make you turn more RPM's <br>You will just get them faster.<br><br> : Eddie : 8)

ok what is a sig? iam new to all this.my truck has 3.54 and yes it would run over 90 before like 115mph never top it out. it poles hard to about 90 then slow's to about 86 or87 then back up to about 90 agen back and forth.i thing soming in my truck is going on but dont know where to start lucking speed senser or that. and for the bank's kit i like it it pole's my 10.000 pound boat like it nuthing. and i whent from 19mpg to 21mpg. wount be back tell the weak end thank's all

Sounds like the speed limiter is cutting in. I believe that the system defuels at a certain speed. You can cut a wire to disable the speed limiter. Here is a thread on it

A Sig appears at the bottom of your post, tells us about your truck. The other thing it could be is lift pump pressure. Check your lift pump pressure, just do a search on the board here.
How's the fuel filter?

lift pump is new three weeks ago still the same and it would run over 90 befor. thanks i wil go and look went to showthread sounds like it could be it. thank's

I agree with the above mentioned things. I would look at dumping Banks and getting an edge comp or my favorite a TST pm 3. WOW!!!!!! When stacked with edge ez.

D.C.<br><br> I had the banks power pack on my 01 eth. (big mistake)<br> The ottomind does work in conjuction with the speed limiter.<br>When my truck was new I had it on a dyno to get some baseline numbers. all the runs were done in 5th gear.The only <br>thing I ran into was the rev limiter at around 3400+- rpm.<br>after the installation of the power pack I went back to the dyno to see what the power increase was. We ran in 5th gear like we did on the baseline runs. the only limit was the rev limiter at around 3400 rpm and a disipointing 2,200.00$ and a 65hp gain. We then ran some 6th gear runs and when the truck hit 86mph it was like turning the key off. (shutdown) The EGT was at about 1000 deg. the ottomind will defuel at 1250deg at 86 mph the rpm is only at 2500. We figured it was the factory speed limiter and left it at that. About a year later I was on the highway and reddy to pass a car when I discoverd I could not get over 78. It progressivley got worse, down to 70. So I fixed it, ripped it out and trashed it. Guess what, there was no factory speed limiter. it was the ottomind limiting me all the time! <br> I bought a edge comp an now I'm a happy camper<br><br>jerry

There is no speed limiters in these trucks that I have ever hit anyways. My ram stock would run well over 100 MPH not that I would go that fast ;D and after my mods even faster so I have no idea where this speed limiter came from

There isn't a Speed Limiter as such.<br><br>There is an RPM Governor though.<br><br>Once you hit that governor, you don't go any faster.<br><br>As far as the speed you hit it, that would depend on transmission, rear end ratio, tire size, rate of ascent, etc.<br><br><br>phox

well my truck will red line 1rt 2ed 3rd and drive its o.d. red line is 3200rpm's hate to throw out 2200 daller's :'(

Get a Fuel pressure gague and check it before anymore WOT opperation. There like 80 bucks and then you KNOW whats wrong.
