Re:Can you or can't you-lock out hubs?

When I had my front driveline rebuilt, due to it turning all of the time on a severe angle, the shop said they had never seen a Ram without the disengage actuator. The guy actually walked out to my truck because he thought I was just dumb and could not find it. I have since heard from the guys @ TC that they were not aware of it either until I showed them mine. This is something I have been told by DC that changed from 01-02. I was not given a reason why. I also had the opportunity to run w/o the front driveline while it was in the shop, and the mielage was not much different (maybe .5 mpg better). At this point I was looking for the unlock hub feature, and found the cost to be more than I thought it was worth. LE

This kit is NOT $2500. It is only $1250 and the installation takes about as long as replacing the ball joints. Well worth it to me.

I think I'm the one that said $2500, I mispoke.

Still, $1250 is more than I have to spend.
Maybe after it's been confirmed it works I'll look into it.

Dieselhead,
Have you used this kit or had any dealings directly with it? Just still wondering about quality of the product.
Thanks

This is an older post, so I'm wondering if anyone makes a unit bearing with lockout design for these trucks now? My 2002 is ready for bearings (ABS Issues) and I'd like to switch it over if possible and less expensive than 10 years ago.
