If you do, it will provide too much pressure ( 35 psi) to the VP. I had moved mine to the frame instead of the motor, and it improved greatly. I had also purchased a spare LP, that I had to install 25k miles after moving the mounting.
Over the years there has been lots of experimenting on fuel pump setups but its just proven to be easier and more reliable to use one. Running multiple fuel pumps is risky and involved. You can run two pumps in line but then if one fails and one doesn't then you get one sucking through the other or pushing through the other. Not worth the effort and you also have to be careful not to hook that second pump to the ECM connection without a power relay or you force the ECM to power two pumps and the ECM wasn't designed for that kinda amp draw. One good pump by the fuel tank should deliver all the fuel pressure you want. And that fuel pressure should be between 10-20 psi.....I like it close to 20.
