Camshaft Position sensor removal

Anyone successfully remove this without removing the injection pump? If so, any tricks?
Thanks.

I used a combination of 1/4" extensions and universal joints. I can't remember the exact combination. Should have written it down. My 2002 had a 10mm (I believe) standard bolt head. Some have an allen head bolt. Once you get the bolt loose, it should come out with finger pressure. Not an easy job, but with persistence it can be done. I think I worked at it from both top and bottom.
