Cam sensor?

While driving the other day my tach started jumping all around and went to zero a couple times! It did this for a couple minutes and then cleared up and didnt do it again until today! I stoped **** the truck off and it quit doing it! I was wondering if my cam sensor is going out or if i have a bad connection some where?

The 01 has the cam sensor and not the crank.. I just had the pleasure dealing with the 1690 code and the 341 code. For me it turned out not so good. I replaced the cam sensor but no go. Still 1690 and 341. Swapped in a spare ecm for kicks and no more 341 but still the 1690. Put the old ecm back in and instant 341/1690. Put the spare back and 341 goes away. Dropped in a new pump and no more 1690. So my pump and my ecm went out. My wallet is now significantly lighter.
