Does anybody know of a good place to buy a cam sensor. And does anybody know about how much they cost ???

 

I bought my replacement CKP (crankshaft position sensor) at a local Cummins shop - try your local Yellow Pages for one; I know the dealers have them as well, but you'll pay MUCH more for the same part.

** I think the camshaft position sensor was phased out for the Crankshaft position sensor in the late '90's??

I got mine from Cummins, I think it was around $40? I replaced mine when I had the VP out. Trying to replace it without taking the pump out would be very, I mean extremely, hard.

 

Replacing the sensor is not too bad. Work from the driver's side of the truck and try not to leave any skin.

 

i think i paid around $60 from dodge. it is a pain to change but do-able from the said of the road... been there
