Cam position sensor

I hooked up a code reader and everything checks out except the cam position sensor. it reads 0 all the time running or not. The boost pressure also won,t go lower than 15 lbs. even with the engine not running.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
The gauge should show PSIA and pressure near 14.7 without boost.
Absolute pressure on Chrysler scanner, others may not be the same.

I believe they discontinued the cam sensor on the 01 engine, so that line on the scanner will read zero.

My manual says' that the cam sensor is only used for diagnosis purpose. It states it is not used to control injection pump, is this correct?

The cam sensor does have some other uses-but if you have no codes-its very possible the prob is just your scanner
