buzz from engine area
my truck has developed a sound that is driving me nuts... It is like a faint buzz, or kinda like the sound of a card in bicycle wheels spokes coming from the engine area. you can really hear it inside the cab while driving. it gets faster and louder with engine rpm.
its not too loud but it is worrying me.
the other day when my wife started the truck, i noticed kind of a faint metallic rattling sound just after the truck started, then went away.
my transmission seems to be slipping, it comes and goes. the yesterday i tried to pull out uphill onto the road and it was slipping so bad i couldn't even get the truck to go up the incline. i shut it off and after a few minutes i tried to drive it again and it did ok.
could it be my torque converter?

I'd check your turbo blades for play.
They could be rubbing the sides until oil pressure comes up,
which woud explain why the faint metallic scraping sound goes away.
Turbo blades ride on a film of oil, but the oil isn't there at startup.
