Buying 2002, (9am tommorrow ) any advice.
Buying a 2002 3/4 ext cab 4x4 6sp LB.
50k miles , all stock,
Front end done over, tie rods, steering bar ends,
Block has lots of small writing, no big Casting number
(like 53)
Mexico block ? This is good , right ???
Truck drives good, like a dodge , I think, feels more like a truck, than my chevy,
Any warrenty left on engine.?
besides installing a fuel pressure gage, any other
things I should know, before taking a trip...
Have been reading the posts, a lot to digest, just wondering if there is any Biggy's I should Know before
I break something.....Or hand over the cash.
Thanks...

Congrats on buying an 02, there should be some warranty left on it. The 5yr/100,000 mile Cummins warranty on the engine and i think if it was sold during the later half of the yr the 02 trucks had the powertrain warranty. I know mine has it till 70,000 i think. Someone with more info on the powertrain warranty will probably chime in.

Have them check the fuel pressure for you before you purchase. If it's low, or non existent, have them check for codes and replace what is necessary. I didn't do this when I bought and, guess what, the next week I had a large puddle of diesel under my truck from the leaking LP. A year later I was puting a new VP in. You'll be happier knowing that everything checks out before you buy!
Order gages first thing after you pick it up. Get the fuel pressure checked and replace the lift pump if necessary. If not see if you can get an extra 1500 in cash with the loan for a new VP
