Buddy having trouble

A friend of mine is having some probs with his 02 HO 6spd,4X4 Qcab SB.It acts like a bad fuel filter. But it has done it for 20K miles now after several filters, trips to the dealership, and a lift pump change. Is there a common gremlin in these??He's about tired of it and would like some help.

Have him cycle the key on & off 3 times & see if there are any codes showing up in the odometer display window. If so write them down & get back to us.
If the dealer replaced the lift pump & it was still giving him problems the vp44 injection pump may be on it's way out. Hope he is still under warrenty.

He says it throws no codes,it is still under warranty and the dealer says the pressures are good so they can't replace the injection pump.He told me to go drive it the other day,but I was kinda in a hurry so I passed.

I think it's time to try a different Dealership.
Preferrabley one with a semi competent Diesel mechanic, not just a "code reader".
