brakes
What kind of truck do you have? (particulars...)
Sounds like an ABS to me. (Anti-Lock Brake Sensor)
It's located in the rear "pumpkin", on top. It's easy to replace.
Any other ideas?

It's the sensor in the rear differential that's acting up, you have anti lock rear brakes which are standard, the option was for front abs. If it's not that, check your brake fluid level also....
if you have rwal [real wheel anti lock you have 1 sensor on the rear axle.
if you have abs[ all wheel anti lock you have the rear sensor along with a sensor in each front wheel.
you should be sure as to what system you have along with updating you sig. with truck model and year ect.

Yep, it's measuring the speed of the rear axle and supplies this info to the RWALB or ABS (if equipped) and to the PCM for speedometer and odometer.
So if your speedo's a bit jumpy and you've got the ABS light on chances are good that it's that sensor
