Brake Pads

Getting ready to change the front brakes on my sig truck... Any recommendations on good pads?
Mine is the 8800 GVWR... Are all the diesel pick-ups this rating or did they make a 7500 GVWR version as well?
And does anyone have experience with the DOT 5.1 fluid Geno's sells?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

As far as the pads go, I have a set of EBC the greenstuff on the front of mine. I like them and they do not make noise nor alot of brake dust. They seem to have a real good bite when stopping. Also my 2500 is an 8800 GVWR, not sure about the 7500 thing or any fluid from Geno's.

Not much point in using DOT 5 brake fluid unless that is all you have had in your system. The older stuff will just contaminate it.

ops 8 8- I wish I did, I got lucky and picked them up at pep boys as they were no longer carring EBC. SO I got the front set for like 5 dollars. I went to summit racing online and looked them up. I cannot get in there right now, but that is how I found more info on them. Hope this helps a little.

I use Duralast pads from Autozone. Lifetime warranty and they seem to be working fine on the front so far. I plan on doing the big brake upgrade on the rears next week and will use the same in there....

I buy the mid-range from NAPA and have been happy, very little brake dust as well.

My rear pads are still orginal....40% left at 215K!

Gotta love downshifting, owned my truck now for over 3 years and havent put pads on the front yet, just did rears only because I had a caliper tie up and eat the one pad away, but the good side still had at least 75%, fronts well above 50%

oudive- I contacted summit, they don't stock the 8800 gvwr version EBC Greenstuff... but can order them... two weeks out.
I ended up going with the Hawk Performance Superduty Pads
Hawk p/n - HB298P.787
Summit p/n -HWK-HB298P-787
I have heard good things from a few friends... Time will tell i guess
