blew the tranny

Yesterday my tranny finally broke. it would not go at all i floored the gas pedal and it was like i was in nuetral and the best part was i was in the middle of a bridge!!! Had it towed to the tranny shop and they called me today and said the inside of my torque converter blew apart and threw metal shavings into my tranny and then my pump sucked up all the metal and destroyed it. so i got a question I want a triple disk converter but can not afford it right now but they told me about a single disk heavy duty billit converter? had anyone ever heard of this and does anyone know anything about it??
