I got 220k miles on my opriginal 98.5!! Though it finally dies and I went with Edwards Equipment who sells the VP44 for $975 plus a $400 core charge and 1 year warranty. When you call to order they will ask for your current VP number and tell you how many updates there have been since yours. I believe there were close to 30 updates since my original.

their site addy is http://cumminsstuff.com/

I have no idea what type electronics the pumps have in them. They advertise
its the most updated the manufacturer has, if you read the info.

Never asked the question about warranty with a chip attached. The person buying the pump or yourself should ask them directly via e-mail and post it.

Then we would all know. I'm not a salesman.

Im having him install the fuel gauge and a noise filter from DTT. well i got the truck back the other day. new lift pump and vp. put a pressure gauge on the fuel. 16 with key on, 10 wot, 14 at 1200 rpm. i think i need an electric gauge, the mechanical makes too much noise. how much are the holley pumps that you guys are putting before the lift pump and does the pressure build in series or another way.

A quick run down on VP's:

The Hot Rod version can add some HP, but it will not add peak HP above 600 HP. Example, if you run large injectors and a hot box, you wont gain much at all. I have several customers who have Mach 4's and the HRVP from II. With a comp box, they can make up to 600 HP with this combo.
That is a good selling point, but the same guy could use the standard VP and make 600 too, although he now needs a Mach 5 or 6 to make that happen. But if you add a M6's to the HRVP, you wont make much, if any over the M4 did.

The Fed Ex pump is nothing more than the latest version of the electronic package available to the Bosch authorized rebuilders. Nothing special. If your rebuilder can get VP parts, he can or already is getting the FED EX upgrades.

Most failures now of the VP are electronics related. Not all, but most.

Not all rebuilds are the same. I have one here that had 300 miles on it. It is a joke. The level of "rebuild" seems to vary from shop to shop. Some are great. Some are mediocre, with everything in between.

Get a warranty from whoever rebuilds your pump. Technicians that rebuild pumps are just like surgeons. You can get good ones and bad ones in all professions. The stakes are lower with a VP, but you get the point.

No current HRVP is going to add 100 HP to your numbers if they are already high. If you make 600 now, you will not bolt on a HRVP and make 700. Actually if you are a maximum effort person, trying for the most, skip the HRVP and get a normal SO pump and use larger injectors for the best peak power.
