best place/price for SBC?
Where is the best place and price for a south bend clutch? I'm gonna be in the neighborhood for a new clutch soon and I guess I'll buy a South Bend since I've heard nothing but good about them. I don't really know what to think about LUK and don't really know of many others. Also, which would be the best for me? I don't just want a stock replacement, but on the other hand I don't want anything too extreme. I have a comp box now and would like to eventually put a set of semi-mild but not too wild injectors in and that's about it. Possibly slight turbo upgrade, though I doubt it. I may try a different chip but nothing different power wise.
Thanks,
-Ryan

Depends on your location. Usually, the close the better. I dealt with Piers, since I wouldn't have to deal with currency exchange, or border issues. PDW is good from what I hear, although I haven't dealt with them personally. You could also look into Valair clutches. They are getting a strong following on here, are cheaper than the SBC's, and still have great customer service. You should talk to the manufactures, or vendors of these clutches. They will help you pick the one that suits you best. Just be honest with them. But as a guess, I'm gonna say a Con OFE would be a good choice for your, if you do stay fairly mild. But everyone says that at first.

ETH is the high output, has the 13" clutch. ETC is the standard output engines, has the smaller 12-1/4" flywheel. Most of the clutch upgrades use the bigger flywheel. If you have an HO, you can just order the disc and pressure plate, otherwise you get a new flywheel too.

I am wondering if a con O would suffice? I will always have a comp box or something comperable and maybe get rv275's or maybe a hair bigger but not more than 75hp injectors. Probably RV's just due to the price.
What do you guys think??

I agree. Get it from the DTR store. Best price you'll get anywhere and it helps the website out. Also I'd never get anything less then an OFE. price isnt really much differnt. Its still very very driveable and you wont regret it later if you decide to up the power a bit.

I just learned the hard way about a LUK clutch.....it was so grabby that it blew the springs out the disc. Go Southbend & be done with it. A few months ago I would have recommended the LUK, but after only getting 30k-40k miles on it.....never again.
