Best Budget 47RE Transmission?

My 180,000 mile stock is about to bite the dust. And i don't think i can afford a 4-5k transmission.

I have my mods listed in my sig.

Every trans i have looked at was around $4,000.00

This truck is a daily driver toy and during the summer it hauls my vehicles back and forth to the race track. But no extreme towing and i plan on staying with a stock charger. I will put some injectors in it at some point but nothing serious.

www.goerend.com has about the cheapest, and their transmissions are awesome. $3500 is the base tranny. But for what you have, they have a triple disc TC with a 100k mile warranty for $1050, and a valve body for $475. A good stock rebuild with those parts would probably do you just fine if you dont want to pay for the rest of the upgraded tranny.

I got the Utimate Duty with a single Suncoast (91%), extra deep pan and an upgraded VB. I think they've had a price increase since I got mine (Oct. 07) but I paid @ $3400 and $250 for shipping (he pays one way and you pay the other). I then had to pay my local installer $200 and extra $80 for all the fluid that the deep pan holds. I think he said he put in about 17 quarts and then I had to put in another 1-2 after I drove it a while. I absolutely love this trans. I can get the truck sideways when it hits second if I feather the throttle just right when it's about to shift. Last week was the first chance I had to tow with it and it did a great job. Getting up to speed on the interstate wasn't such a chore and the trans did not slip at all when I turned my XZT+ on fuel/timing pulling a grade (just wanted to test it). You can't go wrong. Normally I just pull in timing only because that's plenty of power for me and I don't have to worry about EGT's.

(and if you don't like reading a post when someone cuts corners, imagine how much you'll love towing a trailer of yours with a transmission someone cut corners on. Budget and CHEAP aren't a 1:1 thing.)

Call Dusty at HTS. I see in your sig you are in Indiana. HTS is in Mich so the shipping might not be $250.00. Get an upgraded Torque-Converter, one of Dustys valvebodys, and the upgraded servo and accumulator. htstransmissions.com
Excellent company to deal with.
