Band adjustment, 47RE

What are the reason to adjust the bands on a 47RE while replacing oil and filter ?

And what are the symptoms if it hasn't been done ?

Thanks

Digging up this thread...... What sort of knowledge/tools are necessary for a band adjustment, What would it cost to have someone do this and change fluid and filter? Close guestimate....

The only special tool you need would be an inch pound torque wrench.
Not sure how much one would pay to have it done, I've always done it myself. It only takes like 5 min. to do and would probably be part of a standard transmission service at a good garage.
