Its probably still laying in the tubes. Give it a few days and see if it stops.

It will probably drip for the next week, it's amazing how much oil the tubes hold.

a buddy of mine had the ball joints done at a shop and right side made a mess. they nicked the axle seals when slipping the axles back in

thanks for all the input guys, I was kinda figuring all this was possible. It sucks cause i have oil splash every where now. I parked it in the driveway with the front facing down the drive so it would all leak out, this morning i had a quarter size drip on the pass side and drivers side had about the size of a credit card. Im heading to the Darlington race today Im taking xtra fluid with me just in case. Oh and i have an xtra ticket too.

I think the level is susposed to be 3/4 from the fill hole, it is possible to damage the seals if you were not careful when sliding the axels in

I've done lots of BJ/U-joints and have never noticed any oil leak out of the tubes! maybe you were over full to begin with

it did leak alot out when i was doing the change and i refilled it but i know for sure i over filled because it was coming back out the fill hole. I was very carefull in reinstalling the shafts just due to the seals, the leak is not as bad today when i got to work it wasnt dripping so hopefully nothings damaged

I usually give the end of the axle shaft a good coating of grease before I slide it back in to help prevent seal damage. I have only ruined 1 seal from not being careful on sliding it back in.. That truck had over 400,000 miles on it..
