Ball joint question

Ball joint question

so I just got done completing a 5.5 fabtech lift and noticed up and down play in my ball joints for the steering knuckles. 50% people say thats perfect. 50% people say its bad. What everybody think?

I think anything over 1/16" is bad. Our trucks are prone to the BJ's going bad.

I replaced mine when I noticed any play. I used the high end NAPA greaseable upper and lower joints. The grease fitting on the lower joint just clears the axle joint and needs a right angle adapter to grease.

1/16" is what I beleive to be the line for good/bad.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Fill out sig so have clue on unit.
If 2WD .035 inch movement is acceptable.
On 4WD any noticeable movement is replace time.
