Bad pump? (longish)

Hi, I've got a 02 Sport 4X4 that showed a bit of the old "dead pedal" a while ago, and it's also showing the dreaded 0216 and 0234 codes. The trucks seems to work fine but I realize from this forum the importance of checking the fuel pressure and gauging the health of the lift pump. I made an appointment with the local dealer and I found out I have engine warranty til Nov. 19! Question is, is the way to establish the damage already done to the inj. pump? Are they just going to want to fix the lift pump and hang me out to dry with the big ticket item? I realize you can't predict this, but are how are other dealers handling this in your area. Sorry to drone on, any thoughts would be helpful for when I get in the ring with the service manager. Cheers, Fred

do you have the 0216 code stored right now? If so, most dealers will replace both pumps if it's got the code in it. If one won't do it, take it to a different one, till I found one that would fix it. If no code right now, go drive the pee out of it. I think j body said he knew how to get it to re-throw the code. might give him a PM
