Bad PCM?

I have had an ongoing issue that occasionally my truck would cut out every once in a while but would never throw a code. I took the truck in and had it scanned but there were no codes. Well today my truck started to do it again so I got it to the mechanic and they hooked it up to a scanner and took it for a test drive. While driving it the truck would cut out and then pick up again. Well the speedometer wouldn't change but on the scanner it would read 181mph and the drop to 90mph and when it wasn't cutting out the scanner read normal. The mechanic believes it is a connection to the pcm or the pcm is bad. They cant look into it until next monday but wanted to check to see if this is the problem?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I finally found something going on with my truck, but want to make sure the mechanic looks at all possibility since it is not throwing any codes but when you hook it up to the scanner the trucks speed is all messed up and it appears to be cutting of fuel.

Make sure he checks and cleans all of the ground connections to the engine, body and batteries.

Thanks for the tip. He said he is going to check the connections first to see if there is any corrosion or bad connections.

Last month I had two new batteries installed.

Keep the tips coming!

Where do I locate the pcm so I can see if all the connections look good or not?
