Axle breather
Axle breather
I have a few minor leaks in the front axle. So I thought I'd start with the easy stuff first. The breather line-is there only one? I had found one behind my air box, that leads to the CAD on the axle. I took the cap off to see if it was clogged, when I blow into it the air psi builds and rushes back out the cap. Can it clog on the axle side of the hose? I have never had that happen before on a car
I wouldn't blow back to the axle side,,, if there's anything in the hose you'll put the debris inside the diff..
I just cleaned mine on the rear diff, l pulled the hose off the fitting on the diff., checked the plastic check valve, pulled the plastic valve off and then blew air through the hose, it was clean.
So I pulled the metal fitting off the diff.,,, it was plugged from top to bottom about 2 inches worth. Cleaned it, and never siezed it.
My right rear seal was leaking, and the member on here, PIND, said to check it, otherwise I'd never checked before re-placing the seal.
