Auto Transmission Failure?
It all just happened, no planning, no budget for the upgrade. The truck is completely stock other than the K&N air filter. I have no intentions of adding mods for more power. The repairman at the transmission shop told me that their after market converter replacement was significantly stronger and that the gearbox was more than sturdy enough for hauling my trailer. He also told me that investing in a transmission temperature gauge would be a good investment. The trans cooler that came stock should be adequate but if high temps are shown on the gauge, add a cooler.
just a question, did they flush your cooler(s) after rebuilding your tranny? as far as I know the coolers are honeycombed inside and catch and hold lots of old tranny debris (or so I've been told) when my tranny was done it was on some fancy dancy tranny cooler cleaner thingy (technical name eludes me) that pulsed and flushed oil thru the coolers till no more "metal" showed up on the machines filter screen, it was on there for 3-4 hours till it showed clean...mine to had a failed TC
I cannot say that they went into the level of detail that you did about flushing it. I was told that the entire transmission was removed and disassembled and every corner Thoroughly cleaned. That the cooler and lines were also flushed of all metal. All parts were inspected, replaced as needed, and reassembled. I will be returning it to them, after a summer of hauling my trailer around, for service and inspection. I trust in their integrity and hope that is not a mistake.
