Auto trans seems to be leaking down
After my last rebuild I notice that if the truck sits for a day or two that it needs to idle for a good minute or two before it will move. If I start it up and put it right into drive nothing, just like I never moved the shifter. After a minute it will start to move, then it runs and shifts just fine.
The shop that did my rebuild got imminent domained and hasn't found another location. So a couple of questions for the forum;
1. Is it hurting the transmission for the fluid to drain back into the pan?
2. Is there a way I can fix it without a complete teardown?
Thanks

In the oil 727's if the snout of the converter was worn or if the bushing in the front pump was worn they would leak down.

Performance rebuilds often get rid of tha anti drainback valve to increase cooler flow..
Makes it necessary to idle in neutral for a minute before putting it into gear- you do not want to wait in drive or reverse until the trans engages- bad for the transmission.
