APPs Sensor question

I dont really have the money right now to replace the sensor and it is failing hard. I have reset it 3 times now, how much longer do I have till I am stuck on the side of the road cursing? It has gotten me about a week each time till it fails on me a again.

the ground from the apps goes to the ecm and from what i understand it is not a very good ground, this helps ground the apps and complete the circuit as i understand it.if i can i will post the whole repair inst that i got last year.it worked for me for a period i think i have a apps going out or a bad ground some place.

instructionsfor gounding

if your 98.5 is the same as my 2k then you can unbolt the apps from the
engine turn it over and pull the plug out the .the black wire with the yelow stripe is the ground wire going to the ecm. you can add a ground wire to that by taping in to it and running it to the neg side of the battery this way youare helping ground it better.it workrd for me for a year.do you get any codes when you turn your ignition key on and off three times but not starting it.
1693 is the apps code from what i have read here,it is not an exact code but is a companion code for something else with ti you can take it to a auto parts place and they can read your codes for you.if you have no codes that the ground stuff i gave you could very well be your problem,it sounds like yo have more wrong than rounds.

What did it act like when failing? Did it make the truck surge, run bad and die?

Regards,
gene

My RPM will go up and down a bit and wont stay steady with constant pedal pressure. Run bad and die would probably be something else. Hows the fuel pressure?

tmleadr03, My fuel pressure is 13-16, Cannot pull it below 10psi. Just put a new vp44. Your saying your truck did not run too bad when your apps was going out.

Thanks,
Gene

The engine is running fine, but right before I get the dead pedal it will jump up and down about 100-200 RPM when I am holding a steady pedal. It wont kill the engine. Then the pedal will just go dead, the engine runs fine and if I dont mind going 35 everywhere I can just idle up that fast moving through the gears.
