APPS or ?
I have been having a problem with my 02 that is simular to a problem that I had a couple of years ago. My APPS gave me problems and I replaced it.
Q #1: shouldn't they last longer than 2 yrs?
Q #2: It shows codes P1687, P1694 and P1698. Are these codes APPS failure

Inspect wiring harness near wiring connections C125 & C126 for a rub through from contacting the engine dipstick tube. Also inspect the C125 or C126 (ECM Connector) for water intrusion. If moisture is found in connector, clean the connector and pack it with dielectric grease. Inspect the rear hood weather strip to see if it is missing or incorrectly installed allowing water to contact the C125 & C126 connector. Don't use a pressure washer to clean engine off. May allow water into connectors.

checked wire bundles and connections. cleaned both 125 & 126 with contact cleaner and re-lubed contact areas of both. still have the problem.
I have ordered a Tombo APPS, hope it takes care of the problem.

I would think so? You don't list the problem but.....
I had a stutter at light throttle cruise, with my original 02 APPS. Never got the standard APPS codes.
Finally replaced with TIMBO's sensor and problem disappeared!

Hey RJ:
Basically I have the same prob that you described. I got the code listed in my original post. I did the usual cleaning of the Batt terminals and ground points, no fix. re-set the APPS, nothing. Did the wire/terminal inspection, clean and lube, same prob. Hoping the Timbo does it.

for those interested, APPS was not the problem,Timbo's APPS didn't clear the problem of no gauges and the codes listed above.
next step is to take it to a shop for diagnostic evaluation.

What are your symptoms? Dont rely on codes.
FWIW, I had stuttering and codes were related to APPS, I replaced the APPS and still similar problems. I didnt think it was a fuel issue and believed it was electrical. Took it in to the dealer to diagnose electrical problem and it ended up being the ECM, which had been replaced about 7 months prior, but 15,000+ miles later. Luckily, they warrantied the part and I had to pay labor (truck had 150K+).
