Anyone switched to electric fans?

Or know anything about them. Does removing the stock fan increase HP and MPG at all? When running electric are they on all the time so that they can cool the intercooler?

i read an article in a magazine about this and there were some hp. and mpg gains. They are controlled by a thermostate and i think a manual override switch that can be mounted in cab.

Hello,

If you use your truck for towing or any other hard work you run a risk of overheating. Nothing beats a mechanical fan and clutch for high temps.

I was looking into the flex-a-lite fan for mine to help increase mpg's. We always ran electrics on the race trucks and just about every performance/race vehicle runs them to get more hp out of their engines. If I can gain 27 hp and more mpg's at 4.50 /gallon the 600 bucks would be recovered pretty quickly. I'm definitely looking into it.
