I am about to pull my engine and I have noticed the rear lifting eye / plate on the engine is under the fire wall. and does not look like it will lift correctly.

What is a good way to secure the engine for lifting?

 

It works just fine to use the factory lift rings.

You will need a short chain, a very good chain fall or cherry picker, and a buddy.

It helps a little to take off the cowl trim pieces.
