Any ideas what would cause this code?

P0622 Generator field "F" control circuit malfunction
Driving home yesterday and I lost the VP, when I scaned it I got this code and
P1899 Park/neutral switch stuck in park or gear
This is my second (gaurenteed my last)VP that dumped without warning or codes and leaving me stranded on the side of the road

Do you suppose the "F" stands for field? Does you alternator charge properly? Since the ECM controls the rate of charging I kinda wonder if it is a problem or not.

I really have no idea, it sound like a good guess though? I cleared the codes and it didnt come back but until I get to putting a new fuel pump on next week I cant start it to see if it comes back. It didnt come back from cranking the engine over so....Does the ECM or the PCM control alt charge rate? Since the truck has been thru 2 vps in 75k I would suspect there to be voltage problem with one but perhaps they are unrelated? Wish I knew
