abs light fix

abs light fix

Yearly inspection and abs light is on again,what kind of electonic apperatas can i wire that will turn off bulb after a few seconds as i have found the wire that needs to be grounded to turn light on and would like wire it on that wire.

I had a seat belt light that stayed on and drove me nuts. Turns out they are simlple leds and can be unsoldered from the cluster. everything works as normal and no light to bug ya !

If I understand you correctly, you just want the light to come on when the ignition is turned on, and then go out once the truck is started, to fool the inspector?

And to accomplish this, you need the ground wire opened once the engine is running?

What about hooking it up to an oil pressure sensor? Or a fuel pressure sensor. Once the truck is running, oil pressure opens the switch, and the light goes out.

I'm not saying you should hook it up to the truck's actual oil pressure sensor, as I don't know how that would work. But it might. Or maybe there's a way to hook in a second sensor? Or, like in my truck, I've got a sensor threaded into a port on my fuel filter, for the low fuel pressure idiot light. Perhaps you could hook it up there, just long enough to pass inspection?

EDIT: Hey, this would make your "ABS" light on your dash into a "Low Fuel Pressure" light! I like that a lot better than the hole I drilled in my dash...
