ABS and Brake light
Re:ABS and Brake light
Cattle hauler,
I had the tires balanced and rotated, drove around. The next day, the lights would not go off and my speedometer won't register anything below 15 mph, once it speedometer gets to 15 mph slowing down, it just dyes out !
Re:ABS and Brake light
Cattle Hauler,
I looked over the speed sensor on the diff, I un-pluged it , it was fairly clean, then plugged it back in. I didn't put a voltmeter to it or anything. I'm supposed to go today and get a diagnostic check, Hmmmm !

Re:ABS and Brake light
There also is 2 more speed sensors, one on each front hub, that bolts into the top of the hub. But the speed sensor on the rear diff is the most common sensor to go out.

The speed sensors on the front hubs are a pain to get to.
My abs and brake lights were on for 15,xxx miles when I pulled my rotor/hub off and seperated the front hub and I could not get that speed sensor back into the hub tight. I just replaced the front rotors and on both sides I worked hard to get these sensors back in the hub tight. After i got both side done started the truck and both lights went out. No problems with the lights coming back on since. It has been 3 wks now since I did those rotor replacments
