? about aftermarket lift pumps

Is an aftermarket lift pump in addition to the factory, or is it in place of the factory pump? Does it just help get the fuel to the factory pump to save it from working to hard? I have abone stock 01' 2500 4x4 by the way.

Thanks for schoolin a new dodge guy.

pusher pumps can go either way. you can relocate your existing pump or you can keep it were its at and add another pump or you can get rid of it all together and buy a compleatly different pump

I am running a Holley blue pump in addition to the stock lift pump. Never see pressure below 16psi. It is mounted to the frame, and taps into the stock fuel line in the back, the 1/2" line to the injection pump. Has been this way for 10 months with no problems, costs around $200 for all.
