My wife drives a 99 quad cab 4x4 auto with 140k miles has been babied all its life. It has 305 tires on it 3.55 gears, She called me the other day and said that the tranny was acting up shifting real funny around 25-40 mph in town any help i would appreciate..Thanks

 

Please elaborate, describe more about what is happening. There are lots of variations to "shifting funny" and are caused by different things.

ok it acts like it is trying to stay between two different gears like 2nd and 3rd it is just hard to explain.. i think it is something that is mounted on the accelerator that can get out of adjustment but hell what do i know??? thanks

 

Yes, there are sensors (I don't have the details handy), but the first and easiest thing to check is for corroded battery cables. I have read in several places that this can cause the exact symptoms you are describing.
