Don't forget, you CAN get a 24V in a '98.5 truck.

Why the need for a '99 ?

Sorry I can't help you with the pricing of trucks. I think $14,000 for a '99 might be a little low. I know a guy paid $10,000 for a '93 truck with ~75,000 miles.

Where are you in South Tx? I'm in Laredo. Just thought I'd say Howdy.

Check nada.com. It will give an idea what the truck would sell for in your area.

I have 130K on mine and wouldn't sell it for $14K either.

Your not going to find a 98 or 99 for $14k unless it has well over 150k on it. Maybe more like 200k.

You might find a 96 for that much.

I'd say that truck is worth more like $17k.

As far as the 53, I found the first 53 truck today. It was right above were the oil pan bolts on towards the front of the engineon the drivers side. I could only see it looking from in front of the front tire. This was an 00. Too bad, cause I really liked the truck.

I wonder how many of these are sold already cracked. Block sealer will seal it when it is first found. Bars leaks block sealer did a good job on mine for a couple of weeks working it hard.

I would not purchase one earlier than 2002 without checking it out good for a crack. A real enterprising individual can grind off the #53 so it looks ok. Wonder how I know that....

When I was looking for a truck. The going price for a reg. cab 2500 was around $17,000 give or take in the same condition. I paid a bit more for my truck, but it only had 38,000 miles and it's a quad and loaded.

I think im going to shop for another one. Go figure, i have perfect credit, no debt except for my house, and enough encome to afford the thing. What exactly do these people look at when your looking for a lone? If anybody sees a good 5spd 4x4 quad-cab long bed in and around south texas let me know.;
