Are there different series of the 6 speeds if so which ones are the heavy duty ones. Say in a 2002 year modle truck . Also if this same truck is a HO where is that shown in the truck Identifacation ?

 

Somewhere around 2000 they upgraded the NV 5600 (our 6 spd trannies) and made some changes to the synchros. All the rest of it is the same - as far as I know.....You can no longer buy parts for the older style and have to go with the upgraded things. The 6spds came with the HO only. The SO got 5 spds and autos.

 

on the engine tag it will say HP 245 thats an HO SO are HP 235 .some rare trucks had SO 6 spds but a 2002 will be an HO
