Question 53 block

I bought this truck (check sig.) and i looked everywhere to try and find the number 53, if it isnt a 53 block will there be different numbers to replace it or is it just blank. also does anyone know the percentage of 01's with 53 blocks.

down at the bottom of the block near the front at the pan rail on either the pass side OR driverside OR both sides. you'll have to get under the truck from the bottom usually to see it clearly with a flashlight. the # are cast in the block and pretty big a couple inches tall. you'll either see 53 or 56 I think.

I read this article about a month ago and did the same thing. About 1 am or so I was under my truck with a flashlight. Found mine was one of the Mexican blocks with a bunch of small numbers. The pictures are a big help in finding the numbers.

Your probably OK. The numbers "53" are about 1" tall and are just above the oil pan on the drivers side and / or on the passenger side just above the oil pan. If you check the threads on this site, you'll find a lot of info on this. Good luck!
